When the bottom of the dash & the top of the glove box door are rotted out, it is time to just scrap it and start over.

We can rebuild him. We have the metallurgy.

That thing is just dust held together by some moss at this point. Knew it was a Northeast car before I even clicked.

Well, you do.

But seriously, that amounts to arguably about the same amount of dash damage I had to fix on either the Ranchero or the Rover. This also has the advantage of not having been patched by an asscake and floated 1/4" deep in Bondo.

At first I though, that’s not too bad, you can get a new dash, and glove box door, then I opened the ad and saw this
How does it even rust out there?!?! As much as I love people saving old trucks this one’s a goner, pull off some of the useful parts and take what you can get for scrap.

Yeah, it looks like a lot of that truck is so rotted the metal is paper-thin. Any attempt to weld in a patch will just have you blowing out the metal next to it, until you’ve replaced 90%+ of the steel

It’s true, it’s repairable. But it’d need someone with a certain level of *ahem* commitment . Not to mention mad skillz, yo.

It’s been said, I’m so committed I ought to go to an institute. Or.. I think it was something like that.

I bet those curved windows on the rear are worth a bit. It’s definitely worth more as parts than anything else.

There’s no saving that one. You would have to buy another one or 2 more trucks. They’d be in better shape, and morecworthy of a restoration. This can be nothing more than yard art.

Just liberally slather the whole thing with Bondo, it will be fine.
